To receive the best quality audio we always suggest using the 'REC-OUT' or 'TAPE OUT' ports on the back of any mixer that has them. This is due to getting a clean steady audio signal without the master affecting the quality.
If you decide to use the 'MASTER-OUT' or 'BOOTH', please make sure you have it controlled. If either is peaking in the red zone you will get a distorted mix. This is something you do not want after a good set.
List of common mixers/controllers that does have 'REC-OUT' for the MixBox:
Pioneer: DJM 900, DJM 2000
Numark: M2, M3, M4 and M6 USB
Allen & Heath Xone: All Xone mixers have record out.
List of common mixers/controllers that does not have 'REC-OUT' for the MixBox:
Pioneer: DJM-S3, DJM 250, 350, 450.
Denon: MC-4000, MC6000 mk2
Even though these do not have a 'REC-OUT' RCA port, doesn't mean they won't have a 'MASTER-OUT' RCA, so you can still have these mixers above but you must check before buying with us to avoid disappointment.
NOTE: Before buying a MixBox please make sure you have the capable equipment to accommodate recording. We have only listed common mixers that do and do not work. If they aren't listed please make sure you check beforehand. If unsure please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
